I am so freaking intrigued by the synopsis and first look for Elsewhere!!! The descriptions of the town are simultaneously familiar and completely disorienting. Until the author got to the part about Vera working in her father's photography store I was sure that it was set in the late 1800's, maybe very early 1900's, but that bit made if feel more like the mid twentieth century. I want to read this book so badly, and just immerse myself in the mystery.
