Interesting cover. The colors kind of blind you to all the detail

I was not interested in reading the book by looking at the cover. I like all the colors but they seem to deceive the details of the cover. The concept of the book is intriguing. The description at first made me think of the classic “The Lottery” by Shirley Jackson. Is this community bound by tradition? But the rest of the description changed my thoughts up a bit.
