I don't usually read self-help books unless there's something about them that grabs and holds my attention, and that's exactly what Elevate did. I read a few pages of an excerpt and enjoyed them. But when I received the email informing me that I would be receiving an early copy, I was ecstatic. To put it simply, I enjoyed Elevate.

It was the type of book that demanded my attention and caused me to reflect on the details as I read it. I still take every book that claims to offer life advice—how to live it and succeed at it—with a grain of salt, because making improvements is never as easy as it appears on paper.

Deitch does, however, offer some intriguing ideas. There are two parts to this book: awareness and action. Deitch discusses perception, understanding, and development, among other things, in his book Awareness. He covers ten different skills in Action, like inquire, listen, inspire, energize, structure, leverage, and even love.
