I have read another book by Katie McGarry and didn't like it that much, but I was willing to give her another chance when I decided to read Echoes Between Us. But, I found myself disappointed again. Maybe I'm just outgrowing Young Adult books but I kept cringing a lot of the time. In the very beginning when the author describes what Veronica is wearing I rolled my eyes. I mean come on, nobody dresses like that. And the teenage unrequited love/in love with the best friend trope is way overdone. I realize that this element wasn't one of the mine storylines but I was still annoyed. I think this book is best suited for people who are looking more for an interesting plot than overall quality, and there's nothing wrong with that! It just wasn't my thing.
