I really enjoyed it
This book was beautifully written. It was the first time I've read McGarry (even though I own so many of her books) and definitely not the last time.
The characters were fleshed out and it was easy to grow attached to them. I particularly liked Veronica. She was different and quirky, and strangely enough, emotionally endearing even though she wasn't a reliable character due to her illness.
The romance with Sawyer was sweet and added an uplifting touch to an otherwise pretty sad story.
I think where the book lost a star for me was the ghost story. Now it was sort of explained at the end, but I was still left wondering if this was supposed to be a contemporary book or a paranormal one.
Thank you to the publisher for the ARC.
