To be honest, it was very hard for me to rate this novel. This is the shortest passage I’ve read on the Bookish first site. It was only eleven pages, including a couple of title pages. It doesn’t give the reader a lot of time to connect with the story or it’s characters. The reason I’m giving it three stars is that I quite like the section that I read. I liked the main character, who serves as the narrator. I think she is likable, and a little different. I liked her and wanted her to succeed. I’m hoping that the book is also written from the perspective of Sawyer, who they seem to introduce as a major character. The synopsis mentions him prominently, but he’s mostly just mentioned in passing in this section. I’m mostly relying on the promising synopsis since I didn’t get that much from the actual passage. I was interested, though, and would like to read more.
