Some Common Tropes Appear, But Interesting Premise

I think the premise sounds interesting! The first few sentences pulled me in. The setting of the first scene is near a creepy sanitarium, which is intriguing. Some elements - such as the huge crush on her friend who is going off to college, and the popular boy who pays no attention to the main character at first - would qualify as common tropes. But I'd still be interested in reading more because of the hints at ghost legends and lore. The romance does have potential to become unique with more development later on in the story. The cover looks gorgeous! It gives off both ghostly and winter vibes.
