That first chapter is such an amazing setup for the rest of the story, and I've already become quite attached to two of the characters. Veronica, of course, being the main one, and Nazareth. I just love their friendship and how close they are, how they can essentially have a conversation with so few words between them. I imagine the rest of the story and learning about more of the characters like Leo and Sawyer and everyone in between will be even better. I can't wait to get my hands on this one. When it comes to contemporaries, I gravitate more towards the hard-hitting, emotional ones because I find that they tend to be more realistic (even if the main character is seeing a ghost), and that's what I look for the most.
