And clearly everything in Veronica's world is changing very quickly.
Veronica definitely seems like the classic semi-loner, kinda awkward type that tends to be a seminal character of quite a bit of YA literature that's out there, and the set-up with this excerpt definitely suggests she and the "popular" Sawyer will find a way to get together in some way or another. She's got the very innocent best friend, Nazareth, and Leo, the potential other love interest that will probably result in a lover's triangle situation of some kind. Sawyer will likely also not be everything that people think he is, and I'd be curious to see if each chapter is a different person's perspective or not, making the inner secrets of these characters potentially more complicated as they further entwine themselves. Appearances are so often deceiving, and it seems likely the approach this story takes, which would make for some interesting drama to come!
