I don’t think this is a beginners guide to drawing animals but I definitely see the appeal of this style of instruction, especially for children who are committed to practice or adults who would like to improve their skills. I know that my daughter would love to draw like this and is drawn to more realistic drawings of animals than the cartoon variety.
It would have been nice to have some basic skills for drawing animals included in the book-one that reviews simple and basic techniques that are commonly applied to all form drawings. This way, a person who uses this book to date the particular animals included in instruction could also learn some basic techniques for attempting drawings of other animals as well.
