First and foremost I loved the writing style! Mr. Duncan sure can write! I loved the plot and the main characters Solene and Gil! They were diverse and interesting in a way that kept me hooked! One of the things that I had trouble looking around was the lack of world building. I feel as though the book didn’t take enough time explaining the different aspects of the world. I feel as though this could of been expanded better in a way that put readers into the story better then it did. Other then that the story is very high fantasy and I loved the medieval aspect of the setting and the plot! I love the magic and the back story’s to the characters. However I wish there was more depth to the characters and their world.
