I avoided the spoiler that was on the back of the book, but I have to say I figured out the main “twist” in the first few chapters. The book was a fairly quick read, but the characters all felt a little superficial. I also didn’t love the way the book twisted a real mental health diagnosis quite so much. Overall it was an ok read but not great. Alexa has experienced a lot of trauma and something bad happened with her twin sister Beth which has led to Beth being out of the family. Alexa hasn’t heard from Beth in a year when she finally realizes her dream of getting a job and moving into her own apartment in New York City. Before Alexa can even finish unpacking her sister is knocking on her door and asking if she can stay for a while. Things are ok until Alexa also meets a client at work and they start to date. Beth has always been protective and she does not like Curt and worries for Alexa. Alexa is still seeing her psychiatrist regularly and is starting to have a few bumps and times she doesn’t remember. Life on her own isn’t what she expected.
