While this was a bit predictable at times, it is still one of the most engaging psychological thrillers I've read in 2021. I finished it in less than a day! The short chapters added to the pace and had me turning the pages to see what happened next. The author's prose is descriptive and easily pulls the reader into the story. There were some unexpected Covid mentions, but thankfully, they were minimal. I like stories with multiple POVs for the chapters, not just those of Beth and Alexa but the therapist, as well, so I appreciated that, as it gave a more well-rounded view of the storyline. The final reveal was definitely not lackluster!
This is the author's debut novel, and I can't wait to read future books!
I really liked the inclusion of discussion questions and author Q&A. That addition makes this a good choice for a book club to read and discuss.
