This was a pretty good debut novel. I am not sure how I feel about it. It has a good plot and is a good thriller that keeps you engaged but there were parts that were just weird and the plot to me was choppy at times.
I will try to review this without any spoilers or tiny ones that don't ruin anything. The book is about Alexa and her twin Beth and how Alexa finally gets her independence by moving out and getting her first job in NYC. We learn that there has been mental illness issues for both her and Beth and the "incident". I saw where this was going early on but it still had some nice twists and reveals. I felt in the beginning the hints at the "incident" were kind of brunt and I know this is a debut but I've read smoother ways to hint at a later reveal. You have Alexa or Beth thinking back and then just suddenly stop at the moment of the "incident". I also think the whole Curt reveal and plot was just weird. I just don't think it made a lot of sense. I don't think many people would go that far to become famous and to "make a name" for themselves and also it made no sense how he got the information at Weinstein about Alexa and Beth.
So overall this was a good thriller and a nice debut. I'd probably read her next book.
