I really wanted to enjoy this book. It was a very slow read for me and I had a hard time finishing it. I love a good detective story but I felt like the author focused on too many unimportant details.
The main character Natalie is a very likable character and I enjoyed the parts that focused on her relationships with her peers but again, there was too much focus on the crime scene details.
I felt like the author was sharing every single step in the detective process and I felt lost in some parts of the book while some of the rest of it seemed to drag on. Maybe reading the other books in the series would have helped me, I'm not sure. I do like the idea of the book with the first female on the squad making her way to fit in, I just found it a bit slow.
