Let me start by saying I could not put this book down!
The book is by an author that I have read for a long time. Due to this I had high expectations for this book.
What I didn’t know until about half way through the book was that it was the fifth book in the series. This caused some confusion in the beginning of the book (which had nothing to do with the author and one hundred percent to do with me).
Once I figured out what was going on I really enjoyed the book. It was set in the 1980s which was a fun period of time to read about.
The main character Jane was the only female in a male dominated field which was very empowering to read about.
I now plan to go back and read the rest of the series. However I felt without even doing that this read an an amazing stand alone.
The writing was cleaver and fun. The book certainly kept me interested the whole time.
