When I read a book, I like the outline of what is happening before I get swamped with so much detail as this. It is also full of terms that would be better understood if I were British, which I am not. So much detail! Until I know what the story is about, I really don't need to know the color of her vehicle or what crossroads they come to, as it means nothing to me.
