Not gonna lie, the blurb sounded pretty epic, so I was kind of disappointed when I actually started reading Deal with the Devil. I loved the first line ("Nina had broken the cardinal rule, and now she had to kill someone."), but after that, the book just wasn't for me, so I didn't finish it.
This is mainly because I'm a picky reader though. I don't like adult fiction. I don't know exactly why, but it's just so slow, and it feels so cliche all the time. It's why I stick to young adult fiction all the time lol.
Kit Rocha's writing style wasn't bad, but I just didn't love it. The book is good enough that other people will like it, but personally, I just was not that into it. Maybe I'll try it again in a few years though!
