Omgosh, SHOOK! I loved this book and never in a million years would have seen the ending coming. The writing was beautiful and extremely detailed. The plot kept me guessing until the very end. I think I suspected every single character at some point in the book, and I love books where I can't guess how it will end.
I gave it 4 stars, because I feel that even though the writing was beautiful, there were times where the writing seemed a bit unnecessarily convoluted and repetitive. I typically save 5-star ratings for books that completely blow me away and are candidates for re-reads.
Though it didn't necessarily detract from the book, it was very depressing. The author did a good job setting the scene to be eerie. I felt like I was experiencing the story with the characters. Like there was no happy ending at all. Which is totally okay, but I don’t think I was prepared for it to be completely depressing and sad.
