I was so disappointed with this book. I picked it up via ebook on my Kindle and for days, I was having trouble getting interested. I had such high expectations but the pacing of the book was incredibly slow. I never felt engaged with the story nor did I feel connected with any of the characters.
That being said, I did end up DNF-ing the book after 5 or 10% of the book because I couldn't bring myself to continue. It felt draggy and I had little to no interest in continuing with the book. I was super disappointed because the premise sounded so promising but alas, that was not the case.
From all the positive reviews and rave I saw and heard about this book, I honestly expected better. Or at least something that was more engaging from the beginning. I feel that mysteries and thrillers usually have to catch readers' attention immediately and that was not the case here.
