This was such a well written atmospheric YA supernatural mystery that I absolutely loved! The descriptive writing transported me to this small town in southern Louisiana, you could feel the heat from the swampy water. This is a slow burn character driven mystery/suspense done right! So many leave me feeling bored but this was chefs kiss - slowly bringing me along so that each reveal left me with more questions and had me suspecting everyone at some point. I legitimately could not decide who was to blame until the final reveal. I was hooked from the start and although this comes in over 400 pages, I never felt my attention waver. And let’s not forget the stunning cover too, I have a library copy and the glare makes it hard to get a good image so my picture doesn’t do it justice. Believe me though it’s gorgeous!
