Dark and Shallow Lies is a wonderfully written dark and eeire tale that had me hooked from the start. The story is full of engaging characters who were well developed and drove the plot forward.
The setting of La Cachette, Louisiana came to life on the page and was such a great choice for this dark, mysterious story. Ginny Myers Sain created this world with such vivid details that I felt transported into the story myself, as if walking among the other characters. I could feel the hard work and love that went into the writing of the novel and appreciated it even more for that.
It's rare for me to find books now that keep me guessing at what will happen. This did it for me. I thought I had the ending figured out more than once, only to have my expectations flipped upside down in the best kind of way.
