Deep in the Bayou of Louisiana, a mystery is unfolding, despite the fact that La Cachette is full of psychics and fortune tellers.... it still keeps its secrets. I really enjoyed this read! I typically don't love Young Adult books, but this premise was very interesting to me, so I thought I'd give it a chance. I am glad I did! I loved how the book was so descriptive and made me feel transplanted to the Bayou's of Louisiana. Steeped in superstitions and the history and culture of the place. It was a pretty fast paced read as well, and got into the mystery right away.

I felt that I really had it figured out early on, but there were enough twists and turns throughout the book to keep me guessing until the very end. I flew through it! I don't always love supernatural fiction, and I feel like it can come across as 'cheesy', but the psychic abilities of the Summer Children and others on the island didn't bother me in this story, and I thought that aspect was well executed.
