I really loved the First Impression of this book and was excited when the publisher sent me a copy to review. The opinions here are my own. From right off the bat, I connected with Darius and his quirky way of thinking. I loved his passion for tea and could identify with his insecurities and his complicated relationship with his father. While the early part of the book was good, it was what happened in Iran that really set it apart as a phenomenal book. I loved how Darius was honest about how he felt too Iranian in America and not Iranian enough in Iran. I loved his growing friendship with Sohrab. I really enjoyed the descriptions of the food and celebrations and sites visited. Darius goes through a lot of character growth despite there not being a lot of action. Pour a cup of tea, have a tissue ready, and join Darius during his journey. 4.5 stars.
