Not bad.
this book was alright, not quite what i expected. however i rather liked how it explored persian culture, the struggle of not belonging, something which i can easily relate to. and i liked the way it dealt with depression, and how it can affect lives. there was just some boring parts, and i felt as if this book did not have a solid straightforward plot. the romance wasn’t what i wanted it to be either, it definitely fit the book and what it was. but it wasn’t what i was expecting.
i did however like darius’s characters, his thoughts and the way he viewed life was definitely something i could relate. especially with him not feeling close to his culture and such. other than that, the friendship, it was like the type of friendship where you both get each other really well. it was just what darius needed, and i adored it and him, the family aspect was rather nice as well!
