Upon reading the first page I was already smiling. Calling a boiler Smaug? ingenious as well as humorous! It is teaming with humor while evenly pacing the main character's background. There is a flow to the writing that paints the story in an exceptional way and I regret not having picked this up or looked into it sooner!
I was not expecting the first pages being about this tea shop the main character works in but it adds to the story, sets the stage for a character that is relatable but and yet is one I have not read or really heard about before. If you are a middle earth and or starfleat fan, you will be pleased with all the references this character makes to, like so many of us, fit in in a world of his own.
