Enjoyable Read
The cover of this book is absolutely gorgeous— just like the story contained within.
The author's writing style was perfect for a YA novel, comforting and familiar, but also interested enough to keep the reader drawn in. I enjoyed the numerous cultural references and hope that they will not go over the heads of a young reader who might pick this book up.
I also appreciated the frank discussion about mental health issues which I think is great for a YA novel to include. Coupled with discussions and growth from the characters regarding his identity, this book is sure to please those who love YA novels that dig deep and are unrelenting in their attempt to portray teens that are often left out of narratives.
