This is generally a genre I have had a hard time breaking into. The idea of getting a first impression has compelled me to to read the excerpt. So far this has completely engulfed all of my attention to a whole new level I was not aware was there.

Darius is a quarter Persian and he works in tea shop. Throughout this portion Darius often discusses fascinating details about tea. I was immediately sucked into his personality and culture with cleaver setting of events and backstory. The cultural references are amazing with the references with food, tea, language and weaves in racial misconceptions. I really like how the author addresses bullying and racial issues into this story. Depression is also a major topic.

The writing as wonderful I love its humorous catchy tone with unique fun language, especially with descriptions; “His hair was long and swoopy on top“…”swishy shorts”.

I am addicted to this Star Treck/ Lord of the Rings fan boy. I feel like I can personally identify with him.
