At first I was bummed because I felt like it the book was poorly pitched to me; I was expecting a rom-com-y story, but it was more of a supernatural YA deal. But even after I adjusted my expectations, I wasn't a fan. It felt like a later pass of a later draft, not a finished story. Plus the ending was really disappointing - the audience misses a lot of the action in the final battle and completely skips the "winning moment" (if you will) and everything after. This is part of the issue with first person narrative in a giant battle scene when your narrator is the hero, but still... It was an unsatisfying ending to an already mediocre book. I also felt like there were a lot of loose ends?

I was really excited for this book, too, but...
