This book was really a 3.5 but I’m feeling generous because i thought the premise was surprising and unique. I was a bit nervous that it would be romance heavy, but i really liked how resistant Lila was to the whole idea. This book really focused on the struggle of being a Cupid in a world of mortals.

There were some issues with the way the myths got involved that left me a bit confused, but i can’t really discuss them without giving too much away. Suffice it to say that there appeared to be some editing problems toward the end which must have cut out sentences which would have explained more about connections and resolutions with those situations.

I also got really frustrated with Lila at a few points in the book which let me know that i was emotionally invested in the story. She just appeared to have no ability to grasp subtlety and did not “get” some very obvious situations.

Overall, i would characterize this book as fantasy and would recommend it for any teenager or lover of YA or mythology if you are looking for something light. This is not a book full of insights or deep moments.
