I have to admit, I've read it before. I read it on Wattpad and it was good enough that I want my own paperback copy. The first book is quite good with a compelling storyline. It gets quite descriptive of the characters and there is a good mix of dialogue and action.
Now that I've praised it, its time to get in to the negatives.
The book changes genre in the middle of the book, like the writer started writing got half-way through, and then just put it to the side for several months and just started without reading what she'd wrote. it starts out as a basic romance novel like you'd expect but then takes a adventure turn with lots of fight scenes.
The mythology is... shaky. As someone who had a severe Percy Jackson phase I find myself shaking my head at the mix of Greek and Roman myth with inaccuracies galore.
It can be read as a standalone and should be because if you check out the other parts of the series (which I believe are only on Wattpad) its a trainwreck. It feels like the writer has lost their inspiration and just kind of felt obligated to write a sequel.
Overall, Its decent but gets bad.
