I saw this story first on Bookish and after entering the raffle and losing, I knew I still wanted to read this story.

It grabs your attention from the very first chapter. It is the story of a high school girl named Lila who keeps getting pestered by a matchmaking company. After being fed up with their constantly trying to reach her, she decides to go in and take herself off their call list. She goes in there and finds out that whole company is ran by cupid’s and her match is Cupid himself.

What I loved most about this book was the fact that action is always a few pages away. The writer never gives you a chance to get bored of the plot because it’s constantly moving, changing and provoking movement. There is always a new challenge for the characters to face or a problem for them to figure out.

I also really enjoyed the characters. Rebellious Cupid and his charm, rule following Cal and his plans, Lila for her stubbornness, Charlie for her loud personality. They were all so different, yet fit together very nicely.

Now, to get into the things I did not like. First off, I didn’t like how predictable most of the “twists” were. I figured out very early on who James was matched with, even though Lila seemed to be 100% clueless. I also figured out Cals plan before he revealed it. I had to remind myself that it is still a YA novel and I can’t expect too much depth in the concepts.

The other thing I wasn’t too fond of way how rushed the ending felt. It felt like majority of the book was the first 300 pages and the ending was only the last few. I would have liked to see the writer take a little more time to get us through the wrap up, although I did enjoy what the ending was.

The last thing I didn’t like was how small the font in the book was. Maybe it’s just because I’m getting older and the smaller font in books grinds my gears, but it was a little too small for my liking.

All in all, this is a great novel that I would recommend to anyone for a quick, easy, entertaining, fantasy read.
