As a person who can only barely crochet I'm not sure how useful my first impression might be. This book does not seem really directed at beginners. The instructions at the beginning state that there are beginner patterns within the book but they are not included in the first impression so I can't say how easy they are to follow. The patterns included do seem cute though.
