The intro and patterns are clearly written. This is a good book for a beginner or someone looking to grow their skills. Some concepts which are often skipped in other books are explained clearly. Not just with a what it is or stands for, but going farther into what certain things mean and why they are important. The author for example does not assume that the reader knows what 'yarn weight' is. It is written out clearly that 'yarn weigh' refers to the thickness of the yarn and that terms/measures for this differ from country to country. It is also mentioned in gauge that it's important to know yarn weight for gauge and how to adapt patterns for a different weight of yarn.

Experienced crocheters may get annoyed with the explanations, but they are easily skipped over and all projects seen were charted. So experienced crocheters can just skip to the charts they are interested in working.
