Beautifully Illustrated Witchy Read
Thank you to BookishFirst and Penguin Teen for my gifted copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a fun, queer, witchy read and exactly what I needed to start the spooky season. I loved the illustrations in this, they were absolutely gorgeous and added so much to the story!
I will say Emsy and Ben pissed me off for a lot of this book, but at the same time they were going through a lot, so it completely made sense. I do wish I had been able to connect with them just a little bit more though, especially Emsy.
I saw part of the plot twist coming, but I was also completely blindsided by majority of the ending. And though it did all wrap up pretty quickly, I still liked how it all came together. Plus, give me any book with a found family trope and you have me hooked!
Overall I thought it was a really enjoyable, quick read that’s beautifully illustrated!
