Courtney's War began a little slow for me and so it took me a while to really get into. I was expecting to become immersed from page one because of the excerpt I had previously read. Instead I found myself putting the book down and then returning to the story a day or 2 later. I am glad I did not give up as it really was a great and intriguing plot after the first few chapters. I was surprised by how much I ended up liking not only the story line but the characters. The characters were well developed so I got to feel like I really knew these people. It was a story that stayed with me for several days after I finished the book. That is always a good sign for me that the book was a worthwhile read.
