I gave this a shot but struggled a lot from the very start. My hope was a story involving faith and hard work. Maybe it becomes that, but clearly this is a book ABOUT faith, not just involving it. For me, as someone non-religious, that's pretty tough to sink into. To each their own, but I definitely can't make it through a book with god speaking to her and such. Maybe someday I can.
