For starters, I really didn't like how her memoir began with her not winning the title of Miss Arkansas. If this was supposed to stir up sympathy, it certainly did not. In fact, it was a big turn off. Perhaps something along the lines of making a come back from a debilitating disease or a tragedy would have sat better with me.
