It didn't take me long to realize this book wasn't for me. At first glance, it seemed like a great mystery novel - novelist looking into a mysterious death! What could happen?? However, I quickly found myself confused by the writing. For me, stories are driven by dialogue. In Corrupted Humours, there was very little dialogue to go around. That's something I crave in a story and I found none there.
I also found the main character to be a bit egotistical and, for lack of a better word, creepy. I think writing stories with these kinds of characters has long come and passed. There's very little part of me that wishes to read about them.
I can say that I believe the author has good pacing and overall writing skills. I just found the language he used a bit confusing.
This is not to say that this isn't a good book, it's just not a good book for me!
