Before this, the only experience I had with Ward was reading not even half of Dark Lover of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. As you can probably tell from where I left it, this book was not a favourite of mine... Pretty much all of the male characters made me cringe (I mean, their names were Wrath, Rhage, Zsadist, Vishous, Phury, Tohrment and Vehvenge... just no.) and I wasn't digging the whole vampire thing.
BUT, the premise of this story seems interesting and the little sneak-peak I've just read has me hooked! In only three pages, I can already tell I'm going to love Ann and Danny together - their relationship has the perfect balance between banter and sexual tension. Ann seems like a strong protagonist - who definitely has more to her than just pining over the guy - and it seems like there's going to be an element of mystery to the plot.
I'm hoping for a suspenseful, sexy read!
