J.R. Ward never disappoints. From her gritty vampires in the Black Dagger Brotherhood novels to the streets to the hot firefighters of 499 station, she writes another fantastic novel that kept me fascinated from the first page. Anne is a fantastic strong heroine, a though as nails firefighter turned arson investigator who doesn't let a horrific job related injury keep her down. She proves she's the toughest and smartest in the room. Ward's characters are always complicated and flawed beings but somehow always manage to rise above their problems and succeed. The romance between Anne and Danny is hot, consuming and another great Ward couple who overcome tragedies and the obstacles thrown in their way to find love. Consumed is a great novel I will read again. I can't wait to see what J.R. Ward delivers next.
