I know it sounds crazy, but this was my first J.R Ward read. I actually own several of her books and just have not picked them up yet. I was excited to get a chance to read her newest release. It was not as intimidating knowing that this was the first book as most of the others I own are in a very long series.
This started off very similar to a popular television series I like, Station 19. This actually is what caught my attention and the reason I wanted to give this one a try. I will say I had a hard time starting this one, but I ended up pushing through and really enjoying it. I am not really sure why as it was more of a mood thing than the book itself.
I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters. I also enjoying the writing style. After reading this, I will be reaching for some of her other work sooner rather than later.
