I'd like to give this a 3.5 for its entertainment value. Initially, the story seems interesting with the drama unfolding of a fire in a warehouse, pulsing and tension-filled. This reader got the sense that something wasn't going to go well. It was the aftermath, I wasn't sure about. I couldn't really feel for Anne and Danny with their slow-burning romance, and their hit and miss in getting their thoughts and feelings out there to each other. I got the bits about their lives, and the reasons for why things might be what they were. I found the arson investigation interesting and the bombshell that was dropped as we the reader discovered the cause of the fires. I understand that this is the first of a series. Maybe, it will get more interesting in the next book and the characters better developed.
