The cover is odd. It is striking and would capture my attention but it's odd. And I'm not clear on how the cover image relates to the story. The synopsis seemed interesting but the story lost me in the excerpt. Everything in the first couple of chapters is just the narrator telling us things. And honestly, it didn't capture my attention. Also, as a side note, I have no idea who Will Ferguson is or why his name is important enough to be a cover quote.
