Combination of Frankenstein's Monster and An Armchair Tourguide

The way the protagonist talks to his audience (you and me) reminds me of the narrator in Frankenstein's Monster (Dr. Frankenstein) and the storytelling antics reminds me of people I call Armchair Tour Guides - never go anywhere but know everything about all the places you'd like to visit. I find the writing amusing, and would love to be there when our "tour guide" goes on a real adventure; exploring the real world so he can share his own adventures that retell those of others is sure to be a fun ride!
