I am so glad that I was able.to claim a copy of this book. I have always, from as far back as I can remember, loved retellings of Greek, Rome, Egyptian heros, and villains. But this was my first book with this genre. I usually just watch the movies. However, I am glad that I was able to read this and it really helps you delve into the story more than a movie ever could. It was lush. It was rich with background and strife. It was brutal. It was a little sad at times. The brutality and and harshness of times so long ago is sometimes hard to comprehend. I loved how a woman could rise up and become something other than what was expected. In general I just loved this story and makes me want to read more retellings of this genre. Even more so if they could have romance. Also, I really love this cover and can picture it with some gold embossing on the hardcover. That would be beautiful!
