Greek Mythology in new light when taking women into the main character. I found this an enjoyable story although a bit slow at times. Spartan trained at an early age and expected to fight makes a tough women. The betrayals make for how strong the character becomes. Like many Greek mythologies we see the familiar appearances of the Gods. Also, the backdrops of revenge, power and of course betrayals. Women were objects and fathers, husbands, utilized them. Clytemnestra is complex, but she waits her time after enduring the loss of first husband, son, and when it comes to the sacrifice of her daughter she can wait no longer and must take all her strength to overcome all her fears and enemies. The author shows how vengeance must occur and as you read you understand that you are right along side her hoping for the tragedies to end. It was well written.
