If we aren't supposed to judge a book by its cover, why do we make such beautiful cover art like this one? I was drawn to at least crack it open immediately. Then I started reading. I was and still am a little hesitant because the last book I read with a similar premise was super disappointing. Yet, I don't think I will be let down by the rest of this book. Even with only the first 30 pages giving insight into who Clymenestra is and where she started, I get the feeling that she is going to be quite the formidable ruler. She is strong, she is relatable, she is not afraid to break the rules in the interest of protecting those she cares for. She will be an incredible queen and I can't wait to read what she does with the rest of her dynasty.
