Cilka’s Journey by Heather Morris ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Beautifully written, I felt a lot of Cilka’s feelings the blankness is exactly how I feel when I go into a depressive mood. It was so raw the way Heather was writing about Cilka’s depression. I thought it was from the gut and you can tell by the way she writes it that she definitely felt something like that. To be a good author you really have to cement yourself into the characters or you have to experience some of those feelings yourself.
I know this book is mostly fiction with a few true things that happened. I still felt like I was with her while she was discovering her love for nursing.
I think it was a very big tie as to which I favored between Cilka and The Tattooist.
