I am a big fan of reading anything of historical fiction and after reading The Tattooist of Auschwitz, I had to read this second part of the series. I wanted to know what happened to Cilka. This was a hard book to read. My emotions were all over the place. I have read 1 or 2 books about the Siberian work camps, but none of them were so horrific as reading about this. What the men and women went through was unimaginable and heart wrenching and I was in tears for half of it. This is the kind of things you never learn in school but should. This was an amazing, emotional story of survival and heart-break of unspeakable horrors of and after World War II. I would recommend this to anyone.
